Having stable electricity in Haiti is still not very easy. In Port Au Prince every 3 hours
the electricity is shut down for 3 hours because they cannot generate enough electricity the whole time. For these 3 hours laps you have to generate your own electricity, which can be costly. Some people who can afford it have their own generator that works with gasoline. Buying gasoline is not possible for most people because of the big cost.
PROGRESS
We at "Studio Hive Five" found an article about a Japanese company
( www.blest.co.jp ) that has developed a small machine to convert plastics back into
usable oil. We love this idea for using it in Haiti because of the possibilty to clean the
city of its plastics and making oil from it to generate electricity. Poor people can clean
the city and sell it to us or get oil in return. For the moment this idea is still a work in
progress.
